About Carole

I was born in Coventry in 1955 and always enjoyed art at school. When I was 15 a local artist Paul Schofield took me under his wing and taught me how to use oil paints and I was able to show some of my work at his exhibitions in both Coventry and Whitehaven. I left Coventry to go travelling when I was 18 and came back to England to settle down and marry 7 years later and we decided to move to the south coast. I then began a career in accountancy and decided to retire from that 5 years ago and go back to my first love, painting. I started with acrylic paint but after joining an art class taught by Anthea Blackmore, she introduced me to pastel which is now my favourite medium.

I have always loved portraits and animals, so most of my work is in this field, but I am discovering a love of skies, especially in pastel, so am widening my scope constantly.

I take commissions for both portraits and pet portraits which I can do from quality photographs.

I have just completed my first Exhibition at the Colonnade Gallery in Worthing which was exciting for me and I felt that I had passed a milestone in my artistic career.

Although I have no formal qualifications in art, I am constantly striving to improve by joining various local art classes and attending various workshops and I am pleased to see a steady improvement in my paintings.

Art will always be my hobby and I hope you like my pictures, it is a shame to see them gathering dust in my flat so I have created this website in the hope that someone will want to buy them and show them off in their homes.

Should you wish to make a purchase all of my painting and prints are available on my Etsy shop, just click the Click to Buy button on the Prices and Sizes Tab.

If you wish to discuss a commission, please go to the Contact tab and send a message.
